I just learned today that on Saturday, my childhood mentor and friend Jimi Lott, took his own life. Jimi is one of the reasons I started playing drums and that alone gives him a special place in my heart. He was always quick with a kind word and a hug and he always gave of his heart generously. One of the things I will treasure and miss the most are going over to his house on the Fourth of July and letting off more fireworks than I've ever seen. Each year is kept getting better than better. If I became famous, I wanted to tell him of my success to let him be proud of me.
