Czar or tsar is an informal title for certain high-level officials in the United States and United Kingdom. Political czars can run or organize governmental departments, and may devote their expertise to a single area of work. The "czars" have various official titles such as adviser, director, administrator, or diplomatic envoy, but such titles are often quite long or awkward sounding. So how come we never heard complaint's about all of Bush's Czars? Also, I agree that Czar was a horrible choice for a name, but again you can't blame Obama for that. |

attempted conversation on the social stigma of "loneliness"
H Y finds it interesting and more than a little annoying that it's become the social norm and socially acceptable to blame every bout of loneliness on being crazy. it's easier for people to write off loneliness and that's just fucking ridiculous. i noticed because i'm guilty of it, too. Yesterday at 8:28pm · Comment · Like / Unlike ( the one time i DON'T want it to be all about *me*.. ;p )and yes, one person removed me from their fb friend list after this. guess who? i've heard that she and i have a lot in common. as in: "o hai, people think you're batshit, too." so it's also amusing to see comments from two ex boyfriends popping up on her profile.. not surprised. i know they have plenty to learn, too, and i take some comfort in saying "good luck, guys, you're gonna need it." and my mind returns to the thought "wouldn't it be nice if someone that loved me, that i loved back was willing to fight through life by my side?" hell, it isn't even about fighting through life, really. more like working through challenges. NaNo proceeds
Jen has been very awesome and supportive of the entire process, and I'm turning out prolific enough that I'm finding myself being convinced of taking a real shot towards getting this mass collection of spelling and grammatical errors published when November and the dark and evil time called 'editing' is done. Going to definitely need test reading and editing help, for while I am a prolific writer, editing, especially my own work, is not anywhere among my talents. I hit 100k words last night despite slowing down a bunch over the weekend to attempt a social life, girlfriend time and a couple hours of Rock Band. Jen convinced me that what I'm writing is not the Steampunk version of War and Peace, but instead a trilogy. Since three titles have occurred to me, this works nicely. Love it when things work out. In which case, book 1 is now done and behind me, and will not get any more editing than the spellcheck it suffered through this morning until December 1st at the earliest, and by then, I'm going to be so sick of all of this I'll no doubt want to put it off longer than that. For anyone who is curious, for whatever reason, I'm working in a new genre for me. Doing an early-era Steampunk (1815-1820) designed with an eye towards being the roots from which some more traditional Victorian Steampunk settings may have sprung from. I'm doing all sorts of cross-ups in genre, part adventure, part alternate-history-fiction, and part political conspiracy, with a few Steampunk elements thrown in. Just because I'm alternately sadistic and masochistic towards myself, the entire story is in the form of letters, journal entries, etc. from the narrating character to a handful of people, now being read and reviewed by the narrator's fiancee during the Victorian era. For everyone else doing NaNo, good luck with your own books. I can definitely appreciate the work everyone is doing. 50k may not have been the challenge for me, but I definitely have my own obstacles to make a challenge out of it. Which now starts with getting good momentum going for book 2. |

novation nova
On sat when i was putting the Blofeld through its paces I remebered that I have a novation nova.I bought this for the backandtotheleft tour as I wanted sperate equipment for touring in case of thieft or damage. The first one I bought was broken, it seemed the guy selling it was trying to do some insureance scam, by the time I got my money back and got a second one it was too close to tour time to use for wht I bought it for. I did use a couple of sounds on the unreleased battl tracks but the band dissolved before I could dive into it. So it sat, I considered selling it but was too lazy. So on sat I grabbed the instructions and sat down with the beastie and quickly discovered that this really is a powerful synth. It competed with the virus when it came out and was overshadowed by it, but it can hold its own. The only problem I have with the unit is the controls are a bit odd and they could have been layed out a bit more straight forward. Looking forweard to see what else this can do. |

Metal Poker Face
I was watching last night the Family Guy Almost Live Special where they do a very offensive to deaf people version of Poker Face by Lady Gaga. So this morning while using the Internets Google Machine, I came across a video that purported to being a Faith No More live version of the song. Now, any fan of the band knows, that they broke up years ago and have said regularly that they would not do a reunion. I figured that it would be like the Rammstein video of Numa Numa, well done syncing of real video with fake audio. So I watched it and I thought, that's funny, Mike Bortin, the drummer, looks kind of old, his dreads and flecked with white hair, hummmmm, maybe this isn't a fake, and then much to my delight, it was in fact a new live video. That means Faith No More is back together. Air Guitar That is awesome. Current Music: Faith No More - Theme to Midnight Cowboy |

good luck
i find it interesting and more than a little annoying that it's become the social norm and socially acceptable to blame every bout of loneliness on being crazy. it's easier for people to write off loneliness and that's just fucking ridiculous. i noticed because i'm guilty of it, too. not every overreaction and attempt to reach out is due to mental instability, but often is due to a deep-seated desire to be around people that are viewed as positive influences to mood and mentally stimulating. i spent a lot of my childhood alone and ostracized. give me a break, okay? an observation: for those of you with degrees and experience in philosophy and psychology, i've noticed that some of you might think you know everything about the human condition, but we're all different and can't be placed in neat little boxes that are never-changing. and i know that is what truly drives *you* crazy. ...can't...stop...spending! Retroscope would have a clearance on my favorite skirt!! (if you go to Gamma Ray Games right now, the picture of the mourner's butt...well, that's that skirt!)
I can't decide if I should get a 2nd black one or buy a red one for a rainy-day....which leads me to believe I need both... I've already spent $50 on equestrian-style rain boots, $40 on DVDs, and $150 on bits of plastic this week...can I really justify another $90+ worth of skirts? ETA: I am so weak willed...bought both... Current Mood: contemplative |

Upcoming European Tour with The Cruxshadows (November & December 2009)
I've only been back for a week after touring Europe with the always amazing VNV Nation (and the completely insane Straftanz). I haven't really even had time to recap how awesome it was to be on tour with those guys (<3) and how much we all loved the shows in the UK, Holland, Belgium and Greece! Now, I'm already preparing to leave for Germany again! I'll be flying back into Hamburg two weeks from today to embark on my next European adventure supporting The Cruxshadows! I've toured with them extensively in the U.S.A. in 2007/2008 so it seems fitting to make the journey together over the Atlantic this time. I'm very excited for this upcoming tour, and hope my European friends and fans can make it out to a gig to support and say hi to me! It isn't often that I get to Europe (before this year, we made it over in 2007 for a short tour with Angelspit and Ego Likeness) so come out and please share these tour dates with all of your friends! NOTE: if you saw us last month, our set length will be longer on this tour so we'll be playing more songs! Tickets for German dates only: www.ticket69.de (check the local venues for other ticketing information) The Cruxshadows Pages: http://www.cruxshadows.com/frame.htmlhttp://www.myspace.com/cruxshadows
